Last spring, summer and fall when we focused most of our (Jim's) attention on the kitchen remodel, things on the outside got neglected. Now that Jim has been paroled from his four month tax sentence we (he) spend this weekend catching up on outside projects.
All the purple martin houses got cleaned out - which consist mostly of throwing out the 50 sparrow nest that have been crammed in them. The martin's are always appreciative of the clean houses.
Jim sprayed the yard and pasture for dandelions and the very large family of moles that are about to overtake the place. I'm afraid when the dandelions die there won't be much left of the yard.
The yard was mowed and weed eater ran everywhere. Things look pretty slick.
Hauled out all the cabinets, trim, doors and anything else that we had been storing all winter and set on fire. That was one very hot fire. Of course the carpenter in Jim, just couldn't part with some of the cabinets, said they were too good to burn, so they are going up in the shop.
And of course we had to take sometime to watch Cardinal baseball. All 20 innings of it. What a game.
Jim has been working so hard all winter, he has to squeeze in a nap whenever he can, even if it's between innings.
Happy Spring
More kitchen updates coming soon!
